Accreditation

The Respiratory Therapy AAS degree program at South Arkansas Community College currently holds probationary accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) effective November 11, 2017, on Standard 3.09 for a CRT (certified Respiratory Therapist) credentialing success rate below 80%, Standard 3.07 for the lack of an ongoing inter-rater reliability program, and for Standard 4.11 for the curriculum of the clinical component. Actions have been implemented by the program to correct these citations as quickly as possible. The program is recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) toward eligibility to the Respiratory Care Credentialing Examination(s). Enrolled students completing the program under probationary accreditation are considered graduates of a CoARC accredited program.
